The Pilgrimage

The fair begins nine days before the fair. Pilgrims’ Mass, and at eleven the procession sets off for El Esparragal with traditional carts, horsemen and decorated vehicles. Free buses run all day.

Opening speech and lights

Juani Guerrero gives the opening speech at the Palacio de la Paz, and when it ends the lights are switched on at its façade. That night the fair stays open until six in the morning.

The Patron Saint’s Day

An official public holiday in Fuengirola. Flamenco mass in Plaza de la Constitución, the procession of the Virgen del Rosario Coronada through the town centre and, at night, the «El Jabegote» Flamenco Festival.

    Through the streets of Fuengirola

    After the mass, with the bands of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno from Almogía and of Fuengirola. Route: Plaza de la Constitución, Condes San Isidro Avenue, Marconi, Palangreros, Larga, España and back to her church. Expected to end at 2:30 p.m. Horsemen join at approximately 12:45 p.m. on Palangreros Street (Cuesta Street).

Seven nights at the Palacio de la Paz.

It is the fairground’s big venue, and it hosts the opening speech, the flamenco, the children’s show and the four ticketed concerts. A different thing every night.

Online at entradas.fuengirola.es ↗ and in person at the information desk in the Miramar Shopping Centre, Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:30 and from 15:00 to 18:00.

If any are left, they are sold at the Palacio de la Paz box office on the day, two hours before, and by card only.

What closes when.

Set by the Mayor’s official proclamation, and it is not the same every night: the fair runs late before non-working days and winds down earlier on working nights.

6, 9, 10 and 11 October

The long nights: opening-speech Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

And the rides

They close at 06:00 on 6, 9, 10 and 11, and at 04:00 on 7, 8 and 12. But the sound (music, horns, noise) stops at 02:00 every day, whatever time they close.

The proclamation, in short

  • Peñas cannot charge admission. None of them.
  • 75 decibels maximum, and no speakers pointing at the street.
  • No alcohol for minors, and no glasses over 33 cl (50 cl for mojitos and caipirinhas). In the rides area, none is sold or drunk.
  • Shisha pipes are banned in peñas and food stalls.
  • No firecrackers or flares. No animals as tombola prizes.
  • Peñas put tables out on the pavement from 20:00, once the horse ride ends.

A fair for everyone.

The quiet hour

From 17:00 to 18:00, every day, the fairground turns the volume down so people with autism or functional diversity can come in. It is in the official proclamation.

The blue wristband

People with functional diversity skip the queue for the children’s rides, with one companion. Fuensocial hands the wristbands out at its offices on Calle Blanca Paloma, from 9:00 to 14:00.

Children’s Day

On Thursday 8, every ride at 50% of the usual price.

The horses.

The horse and carriage ride follows the fairground circuit from 12:00 to 20:00, always at walking pace. Access closes at 19:00 and is through Plaza de la Hispanidad.

A municipal licence is required
It is valid only for the 2026 Feria del Rosario and must be carried at all times.
What they ask for
ID, equine health card and third-party insurance: €300,000 for carriages and €60,000 for riders.
Where to apply
At the Town Hall’s electronic office or at Local Police headquarters, 9:00 to 14:00. Applications opened on 21 September and closed on 2 October.

Riders join the procession at around 12:45, on Palangreros Street (Cuesta Street).

Only on Sunday 27 September, between the town centre and El Esparragal.

To El Esparragal · from Condes de San Isidro (Pasaje Camboria)

From 9:30 to 21:00, every half hour.

Stops: Pasaje Camboria, Plaza Reyes Católicos, Town Hall, National Police, Santa Amalia Avenue (opposite the mosque), Paseo de Poniente (bypass access) and El Esparragal Park.

From 9:45 to 21:45, every half hour.

Stops: El Esparragal Park, Santa Amalia Avenue (mosque), Condes de San Isidro opposite the National Police, opposite the Local Police, Lepanto and Pasaje Camboria.

The Patron Saint.

The Virgen del Rosario Coronada is Fuengirola’s patron saint and its perpetual mayoress. The services are organised by the Archicofradía Sacramental de Nuestra Señora del Rosario Coronada.

The programme asks the women of Fuengirola to attend the procession wearing a mantilla, a flamenco dress or traditional local attire.

  • 28 Sept → 6 Oct · 19:30Solemn NovenaPreached by Rev. Francisco José Ruiz Guillot. It opens with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the novena and the Rosary, and ends with Mass.
