In honour of Saint Michael · Vélez-Málaga
The opening speech on Tuesday 29 September, Saint Michael's Day; the fairground from Wednesday 30; and from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 October, a day fair on eight town-centre stages and big concerts every night. Here is the full programme.
Day fair from 14:00 to 20:00 in the town centre, with background music on every stage until the first act; night fair at the fairground. Everything is free unless a price is shown.
Saint Michael's Day opens the fair: a Coros y Danzas parade, the opening speech by «El Cindindi» and Requiebros in Plaza de la Constitución.

In the morning, the Diana Floreada band parade tours the centre. At night the fairground opens and the Miss and Mister contests are held.

Thursday 1 to Sunday 4, 14:00 to 20:00: live music, dance academies, choirs, brass bands and DJs in Plaza de las Carmelitas, Paseo de Andalucía, Paseo de los Naranjos, Plaza del Carmen, Romero Pozo, Albero, Canalejas and the Youth Marquee at the Explanada de la Estación.
Wednesday 30 to Sunday 4: the rides, the marquees, the Kids' Marquee and the Official Marquee, home of the big concerts at 23:30. Every night, from 20:00 to 21:30, an hour and a half without noise.
At the Official Marquee on the fairground, at 23:30; doors open at 21:00. All free except Camela, €5, with tickets from the tourist offices in Vélez-Málaga and Torre del Mar. Tuesday's, after the opening speech, is in Plaza de la Constitución.

The Royal San Miguel Fair begins on Saint Michael's feast day, 29 September, with the reception of the fair's speaker at the Town Hall and the Coros y Danzas parade to Plaza de la Constitución.
The next morning, the Diana Floreada band parade wakes up the town centre. And at the weekend, rociero choirs from all over the Axarquía, the verdiales folk bands and the livestock fair, which is where it all began: a Royal Order of 1842 granted Vélez a livestock fair at the end of September, and the first printed programme of the «Feria Real» came out in 1894.
On Calle Canalejas, Thursday 1 to Sunday 4, 14:00 to 19:45, during the day fair.
At the fairground, opens at 20:30 with a show at 21:00: Thursday, a Disney sing-along show; Friday, magic with Mago Danielo; Saturday, puppets.
Sunday 4: the fairground rides at half price.
Wednesday 30 at 20:45, at the Municipal Marquee.
Every night of the fair, from 20:00 to 21:30, the fairground is noise-free: a good time to go with little ones or with anyone who finds noise hard.
Choirs from the Lagos, Torre del Mar and Vélez Seniors' Centres open the day fair on Thursday on Paseo de Andalucía, and on Sunday there is the Seniors' Dinner at the Official Marquee.

Transport Consortium line M-260 links Málaga, Torre del Mar and Vélez-Málaga. Mind the way back: the last bus from Vélez to Málaga leaves at 22:15, before the concerts.

No car parks or road closures have been announced for the fair yet either. The Local Police publishes them on its road closures page (Spanish).
