The Axarquía Costa del Sol region will have its own presence at the Pedal Spain 2026 fair, dedicated to cycle tourism, which is held from Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8 in the Sala Multiusos de Zaragoza. It is the first time that the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol-Axarquía attends a promotional action focused on this sport, according to the regional institution. La Axarquía will be within the space that Andalucía will have at the event, a 36-square-meter stand in which the community's cycle tourism and cycling sports offer will be promoted. There it will share presence with the Empresa Pública para la Gestión del Turismo y del Deporte de Andalucía, the tourism boards of the provincial councils and the companies specialized in cycle tourism that wish to participate. The goal is to expand the region's tourism offer with bicycle products and routes that attract new visitor profiles. The president of the Mancomunidad, Jorge Martín, has explained that cycle tourism «offers new opportunities to discover the natural, landscape, cultural and heritage attractions of the Malaga Axarquía region». Martín has also noted that the event allows establishing contacts with companies and specialized entities in the sector. Pedal Spain 2026 is presented as the only fair in Spain dedicated exclusively to cycle tourism. It brings together tourist destinations, public administrations, tour operators, travel agencies, bicycle brands, accessory and equipment manufacturers, accommodations, rental companies, cycling event organizers and road safety entities, among other professionals. The participation is part of the Mancomunidad's work to diversify the region's tourism and move towards a «more diversified and sustainable» model, in the words of its president.
