The Fuengirola City Council has recorded 2,030 incidents in Torreblanca and Carvajal since the beginning of the year through the Gecor Juntos Fuengirola Avanza application. Of these, 1,739 are already resolved, which represents 86% of the total, while the remaining 291 are still in process or correspond to more complex actions.

What type of reports are handled

According to the City Council, most of the resolved incidents correspond to street lighting, paving, cleaning and gardening work. These interventions are complemented by municipal intensive cleaning and high-pressure water jetting plans that are carried out periodically in the area. The councillor responsible for Torreblanca and Carvajal, María Hernández, announced these figures this Thursday during a visit to the neighbourhood together with the councillor for Citizen Action, Isabel Moreno. Hernández stated that «tools like Gecor allow us to know the needs reported by residents practically in real time and act more quickly and effectively».

Visits and direct contact with the councillor

Hernández visits Torreblanca and Carvajal several days a week to supervise the state of the streets and collect residents' proposals. «Managing a neighbourhood is also done by walking its streets and listening to its residents», explained the councillor. This work is carried out, according to Hernández, in coordination with the mayor, Ana Mula, who also periodically visits the neighbourhood and holds an annual neighbourhood meeting with the residents of the area, the latest edition of which was held on June 1.
