Twelve golf courses and local gastronomy are the two arguments with which Mijas is presenting itself these days in London as a complete destination for British tourists. The mayoress, Ana Mata, and the Tourism Councillor, Francisco Jerez, are carrying out the promotional activity at the Costa del Sol stand, according to the Mijas Town Council. The presence in the British capital is part of the World Travel Market, the tourism sector event held in London from November 3 to 5. The Council places golf as the main local draw within that offer, alongside gastronomy. The municipality arrives at the fair after a high season that the local tourism sector itself described as satisfactory. Mijas Lab, the municipality's tourism cluster, analysed on October 20 at La Cala Resort the occupancy data, traveller arrivals and results of that season, and addressed the promotional policy for 2027. At that same meeting, the panel valued gastronomy as a promotional vehicle and studied the organisation of a private event, in a gathering held with a view to the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España 2026 golf tournament. The action in London also takes place in a context of campaigns by other municipalities in the province in the British capital. Rincón de la Victoria announced on November 2 its first promotion on the London Underground, with sixty digital screens of Transport for London between November 2 and 5, coinciding with the fair.
