From this Friday, October 30, the exhibition "Mediterranean: continent without land" can be visited at the MUCAC La Coracha, which will remain open until March 7, 2027. The show brings together 20 artistic proposals, ten by Spanish artists and ten by creators from different territories of the Mediterranean, and nearly a hundred works of painting, sculpture, photography, collage, textile, video art, installation and sound art. The project, according to the Málaga City Council, proposes a reflection on the connections and tensions that cross the Mediterranean region, with a cultural map that includes territories such as Greece, Italy, Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, among others. The exhibition has the particularity of being curated by all the artists who compose it, with the coordination of Marisa Maza and Moira Zoitl, who, together with Juan Carlos Robles, develop at the MUCAC the first stage of a long-term artistic research project, in collaboration with the COMMUNIcare working group of nGbK Berlin. The exhibition route is articulated around five classical elements —earth, water, air, fire and ether—, conceived as ways of approaching materiality, fluidity, bodily perception, transformation and the connection between different realities. The show addresses issues that connect bodies and landscapes with ecological processes, technologies and political contexts. The participating artists are Carlos Aires, Heba Y. Amin, Forensic Architecture, Pablo Genovés, Robert Gschwanter, Spiros Hadjidjanos, Nezaket Ikici, Seif Kousmate, Damian Le Bas, Mar Martín, Marisa Maza, Sonia Navarro, Valentina Piredda-Sardinia, Esther Pizarro, Florencia Rojas, Juan Carlos Robles, Adnan & Nina Softić, Huda Takriti, Guillermo Pérez Villalta and Moira Zoitl. The exhibition is part of two of the three lines of action of the MUCAC museum plan.
