Granada celebrates its II Flamenco Film Festival from September 20 to 26
The event will bring together more than 35 projects including feature films, short films and music videos in venues such as the Palacio de los Condes de Gabia, the Peña La Platería and the Teatro Isabel la Católica, according to the note sent by Fundación Unicaja.

Granada hosts, from September 20 to 26, the second edition of the Festival de Cine Flamenco, a gathering that unites flamenco and cinematic language through more than 35 projects including feature films, short films and music videos, as well as meetings, discussions, talks and performances.
The festival, promoted by the Peña Flamenca La Platería, will take place at various venues in the city: the Palacio de los Condes de Gabia, the Peña La Platería itself, and the Teatro Isabel la Católica.
The programme will kick off on September 20 with an Opening Gala at the Teatro del Generalife. That same day will see the presentation of the new work by Álvaro Martínez «Martinete» and the screening of «Antonio, el bailarín de España», as well as the presentation of the Premio de Honor to José María Velázquez-Gaztelu for his career in the promotion and preservation of flamenco.
Throughout the week, the Teatro Isabel la Católica and the Palacio de los Condes de Gabia will host the film screenings. Among the feature films scheduled are «Fandango», «Acuérdate de mí», «El Cabrero. Mi patria es la libertad», «Mariano Conde. Los guardianes de la tradición», «Mujer gitana y reina del cante» and «Serás Farruquito».
The Peña Flamenca La Platería, where the initiative was born, will host the performance of Cristian de Moret on September 25.
The festival will close on September 26 at the Teatro Isabel la Católica with the Closing Gala and the awards ceremony, featuring a performance by Sergio de Lope and other artists.
According to the note sent, the event seeks to use film to explore the flamenco universe and, at the same time, flamenco as inspiration for new audiovisual creations. It includes feature films focused on flamenco and its surroundings, short films about its different realities, styles and performers, and music videos that explore the relationship between music and image.
The festival is sponsored by Fundación Unicaja and supported by the Ayuntamiento de Granada, Granada 2031, the Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife, and the Diputación de Granada, as well as the collaboration of companies and entities linked to the culture and economy of the city.
