Málaga hosts the International Folklore Festival from 10 to 14 September
FIFMA 2026 brings together traditional music and dance groups from several countries at the Sala FEMAPE and the Auditorio Eduardo Ocón, with free admission according to the announced programme.

The Festival Internacional de Folclore de Málaga (FIFMA) holds its 2026 edition from Thursday 10 to Monday 14 September, with activities at the Sala FEMAPE and the Auditorio Eduardo Ocón. The festival is sponsored by the Fundación Unicaja and supported by the Ayuntamiento and the Diputación Provincial de Málaga, according to the note sent by the Fundación Unicaja.
The programme begins on Thursday 10 September at 21:00 horas at the Sala FEMAPE, with the opening act. At 21:15 horas the book «Historia de la Danza. Vol. IV. Danza Tradicional en España» is presented, and at 21:30 horas a workshop on Madrid dance is held, taught by Doctor María José Ruiz Mayordomo.
From Friday 11 to Monday 14 September, the performances move to the Auditorio Eduardo Ocón, starting each day at 20:30 horas.
On Friday 11, the participants are the Asociación Ucraniana «Cultura y Arte» - Escuela de Danza NV, Corazón Rumano en Andalucía, the Grupo Folclórico Solera de Alhaurín de la Torre, F. C. Raíces y Horizonte (also from Alhaurín de la Torre) and the Grupo de Baile y Folklore Ciudad de Marbella, ACFYTA.
On Saturday 12, taking the stage are the Grupo Folclórico de la Asociación Rosa Búlgara, from Málaga; the Asociación Cultural Unidos Perú, from Fuengirola; the Asociación Herencia Colombiana; and A.M.C. Coros y Danzas de Mijas.
On Sunday 13, the day with the largest number of participants, performances are given by the Grupo de Baile Barvínok del Colegio Ucraniano de Málaga, the Asociación Cultural Verdiales El Morche y Fandangos de Huit, the Asociación Argentina Martín Fierro (Alhaurín de la Torre), the Asociación Folclórica Cultural Juan Navarro (Torremolinos) and the Asociación Cultural Folklórica Nuevas Raíces (Villanueva de Algaidas).
The festival closes on Monday 14 September with the Asociación Flamenca Seis Generaciones, from Benalmádena, at 20:30 horas, and the Trío Raíces, who will perform folk music from Argentina, at 21:30 horas.
Attending the presentation event were Gema Domínguez, head of Performing Arts at Fundación Unicaja; Carlos García, territorial delegate for Cultura, Patrimonio Histórico y Deporte in Málaga; Luis Rojas, coordinator of FIFMA 2026; and representatives of the Ayuntamiento and the Diputación de Málaga.
