The Nerja Town Council has expressed its condolences for the death of councillor Daniel Rivas Maldonado, of the government team, and the mayor has summoned the municipal spokespersons to finalise the official mourning.

The Nerja Fair 2026, held from October 8 to 12 in honor of the Virgen de las Angustias and San Miguel Arcángel, has concluded with the streets and the Real full during five days, according to the Ayuntamiento de Nerja.

Plaza de España hosted the Grand Gala for the Election of the Queen of the Nerja Fair 2026, in which Carla Moyano was proclaimed Queen, Ainhoa Stranieri First Lady and Noemí Álvarez Second Lady, according to the Nerja Town Hall.

The Local Governing Board has approved, following the public information period, the preliminary design of the building, which will include conventional spaces, spaces for reduced mobility and for electric vehicles, as well as a future transport interchange on the roof.

The resident of Río de la Miel, linked all her life to agriculture and to the Fandangos Cortijeros, will receive the recognition on October 15 at the Mancomunidad de la Costa del Sol Oriental-Axarquía.
