The Provincial Forum of Socially Responsible Companies of Málaga has held a session in Antequera with more than 80 businesspeople in which five new entities have joined, bringing the project to 64 participating companies.
The Provincial Forum of Socially Responsible Companies of Málaga (Foro RSE Málaga) held a business meeting this Wednesday, October 21, in Antequera under the title "Company, Environment and Heritage", which brought together more than 80 businesspeople and company representatives from different parts of the province.
Five new members
The event served to present the project to the productive fabric of the region and led to the incorporation of five new entities: ACIA Antequera, Laboratorio Antakira, Loaza Congresos & Eventos, Neico Comunicación and Audiolís. With them, the initiative reaches 64 participating companies, as detailed by the Confederación de Empresarios de Málaga (CEM), which promotes the forum together with the Diputación Provincial.
In Antequera, companies such as Abasthosur, linked to the forum since its beginnings, and Abire Formación, recently incorporated, were already participating. The session, organised together with the Asociación de Comercio, Empresas e Industrias de Antequera (ACIA), allowed experiences and good practices in corporate social responsibility to be shared and opened ways of collaboration between companies.
Round tables and a visit to the dolmens
The programme began at the Real Academia de Nobles Artes de Antequera with an institutional welcome in which the mayor of Antequera, Manuel Barón; the second deputy mayor, Ana María Cebrián; Francisca Sánchez, municipal head of Employment, Activities and Industrial Estates Policies; Dolores Olmo, deputy general secretary of CEM; and Jorge del Pino, president of ACIA, took part.
Two round tables were then held, "Companies that transform" and "Alliances for sustainability", along with a talk on tourism planning and business sustainability. Participants visited the Conjunto Arqueológico de los Dólmenes de Antequera, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, with a guided tour of the Menga and Viera dolmens. The activity was completed with "Bien-Sentir", an experience focused on workplace wellbeing, and a space for socialising and networking.
More than a decade of history
The Foro RSE Málaga was created in 2013 as an initiative of the CEM with the collaboration of the Diputación de Málaga to promote a business culture committed to ethics, sustainability and the economic and social development of the territory. Among its priorities are moving towards the recognition of Málaga as a Socially Responsible Province and raising awareness among companies, administrations and society about incorporating responsibility and sustainability criteria into economic activity.
