The Migration Delegation of the Diocese of Málaga has called for a prayer vigil for migrant people on Thursday, September 24, at 20:40 hours, at the parish of El Salvador, in the Malagueña neighborhood of Las Pirámides.

The event is part of the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which the Church celebrates this year for the 112th time on September 27. According to the note sent by the Diocese, this day has existed for more than a century and seeks to draw the attention of the Christian community to the situation of migrant people.

For this edition, Pope León XIV has chosen the motto «Even one of these little ones», taken from a quote from the Gospel of Matthew: «Whoever receives one of these little ones in my name, receives me» (Mt 18,5).

With that motto, the Pope focuses on migrant children and adolescents, who in many cases are forced to leave their home due to poverty, violence, armed conflicts or lack of opportunities, which exposes them to situations of special risk and lack of protection.

The prayer vigil called in Málaga will take place on Thursday, September 24, at 20:40 hours, at the parish of El Salvador, in Las Pirámides.
