The tool allows information that was previously spread across different channels, centers and associations to be consulted in one place. From the app, users can sign up for free workshops and for the courses at the Aula de Formación Ciudadana run by the municipal company Más Cerca, check the status of those applications and request appointments for various municipal services. The Ayuntamiento states that this digital channel does not replace in-person or telephone service, but rather is added to the existing channels.
The application is organized from a home screen with several sections. The Mi Ciudad section brings together workshops, cultural activities, resources against unwanted loneliness and links to the EMT and to Canal Málaga RTV. It also includes photo and video galleries of activities, and a space called Comunidad, designed as an area for interaction among registered users, organized into thematic groups and with moderation criteria.
In addition, the app offers a list and a map of the municipal centers and facilities in each district, information about associations of older people in the city, and direct access to the emergency phone number 112 and to the map of the Málaga Cardioprotegida network, which has more than 740 defibrillators distributed across the eleven districts, viewable in real time through its own website.
According to the statement issued by the Ayuntamiento, the tool was developed by the Málaga-based company Sinérgica and is part of the VII Plan de Inclusión Social of the city, within the strategy for promoting active aging, with the aim of fostering the autonomy of older people and preventing social isolation.
Access, after prior registration, is already available for Android devices, while the iOS version will be added soon. It can also be used through the website malagaentusmanos.eu. The platform also includes an administration panel from which authorized profiles can manage content, activities, registrations, users, galleries and notifications.
The project was presented by the delegate councillors for Innovación and Derechos Sociales, Alicia Izquierdo and Francisco Cantos, during the first day of Greencities 2026.
To use the application or the website, prior registration is required. The Android version can already be downloaded, while the iOS version will be available shortly; the website can be accessed at malagaentusmanos.eu.
