Nerja Town Council has approved the file and the specifications to contract the installation of new underground containers in the centre of the municipality. The investment amounts to 312,785 euros and is shared between the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which provides 85%, and municipal resources, which cover the remaining 15%.

Where they will be installed

The new deposits will be placed at the start of calle Granada, at its junction with plaza Cavana, and in the southern area of plaza de España, as detailed by the councillor for Municipal Services and European Resources, María del Carmen López. The action is part of Nerja's Integrated Action Plan (PAI) and falls within the Spain Pluriregional ERDF Programme 2021-2027.

How to take part in the tender

Interested companies can submit their bids until November 9. The specifications and contract documentation are available on the Town Council's Contractor Profile.

Assessments

The mayor, José Alberto Armijo, has stated that the measure will allow «further progress in modernising the waste collection service and improving urban cleanliness». López, for her part, has stressed the importance of making use of European funds to drive investments that improve municipal services and sustainability.
