Work on the future fire station in Rincón de la Victoria, in the Parque Victoria development, is almost 80% complete. The building will also house the central offices and the emergency centre of the Málaga Provincial Fire Consortium.
The new fire station in Rincón de la Victoria is moving towards completion. The works that the Diputación de Málaga is carrying out on a plot in the Parque Victoria development are almost 80% complete, according to the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos (CPB) de Málaga. The building will not be just a fire station: it will also house the organisation's central offices and its emergency centre.
Enclosures and façade
At the moment the exterior enclosures of the building are being installed with lacquered galvanised steel corrugated sheets. Afterwards, a glass curtain wall with louvers will be installed on the façade, designed as a sun protection and energy-saving element.
What it will be like inside
The construction is built on a single floor over two platform levels. On the lower one will be the fire station with its tower, and it will have a living room and dining room, gym and offices, as well as bedrooms, changing rooms, toilets and a locker area for personal protective equipment. In the garage area there will be storerooms, a water tank area and a filling area for self-contained breathing apparatus.
The upper platform will house the administrative area of the Consortium's headquarters and the emergency centre, with a control room, offices and changing rooms for staff. From that centre all emergency alerts are received and the CPB fire stations are dispatched and monitored.
Investment and visit
The Diputación is investing more than 4.3 million euros in these works. The president of the Diputación de Málaga, Francisco Salado, has visited the works together with the president of the CPB Málaga, Manuel Marmolejo. Salado has indicated that the infrastructure will also house the Consortium's central offices.
