The playground in the El Fuerte neighbourhood, in Ronda, is now open after the expansion and renovation works. The space has gone from 100 to 220 square metres, more than double, and the work has involved an investment of 60,000 euros, according to Ronda City Council.

New play equipment, trees and fencing

The renovation includes a decorative theme inspired by flowers. In addition, five trees have been planted which, when they grow, will provide natural shade for children and their families. Part of the street furniture and the perimeter fencing of the park have also been renewed. The municipal delegate for Parks and Gardens, Concha Muñoz, has explained that the work responds to the requests of residents, who were calling for improvements to facilities that were significantly deteriorated. According to Muñoz, the municipal goal is to provide all the neighbourhoods of Ronda with green spaces and open areas where residents can enjoy their free time and children can play in suitable conditions.

Improving the neighbourhoods

The delegate has stated that the City Council continues working on improving the neighbourhoods, with actions aimed at creating more accessible environments and expanding the city's green areas. The park has been open to the public since the afternoon of Tuesday, October 20, so no registration or prior appointment is needed to use it.
