The Local Police of Málaga has processed 27 complaints between Monday, October 12 and 7.00 hours on Monday, October 19, according to the City Council. Of these, four correspond to public establishments and 23 to individuals, for breaches of the ordinance on noise prevention and control and of the municipal measures on citizen coexistence and protection of public space. During that period officers carried out 137 interventions in the Centro Histórico and in the districts of Teatinos and Carretera de Cádiz.

Noise and coexistence

Six people have been reported under the ordinance against noise pollution: four for singing or shouting in the street, one for using playback equipment outdoors without authorisation and one for operating musical equipment inside vehicles without permission. The first four were recorded in Marqués de Larios (one), Obispo (two) and Salvago (one). Under the citizen coexistence ordinance, 17 complaints have been counted. Eleven are for remaining and gathering while consuming drinks in unauthorised areas, in Sor Teresa Prat (four) and Velasco (seven). Three are for relieving oneself in public, in the plaza del Marqués del Vado del Maestre. There are also two for parking in public space without authorisation and one for preventing or obstructing free movement with coercive or harassing behaviour. Regarding public establishments, 16 interventions were carried out resulting in four infractions: one for not adhering to the activity authorised in the opening licence, one for music carrying outside and two related to the sale of vapers. Officers also carried out 90 complementary actions to monitor nightclubs, botellón areas, establishment closures and terraces.

Sanctions and terraces

Complaints for noise pollution can carry a sanction of between 600 euros, for minor offences, and 300,000 euros, for very serious ones. Those related to the citizen coexistence ordinance start at 300 euros. The Area of Commerce and Public Space has drawn up 17 reports for breaches concerning terraces, for improper occupation or for lacking authorisation. They are distributed in the Centro district (Isabel la Católica and Cristo de la Epidemia), Carretera de Cádiz (ten on calle Pacífico, two on Correo de Andalucía, one on the paseo marítimo Antonio Machado and one on Imperio Argentina) and Teatinos-Universidad (calle Pirandello).

VTC and taxi control

In the operation against illegal practices in public transport, 72 actions were carried out with five complaints, all to VTC: two for lacking or having an expired transport card, two for habitually providing the service in a place other than the authorised one and one for attracting customers without prior contracting in areas of concentrated demand. In addition, 25 surveillance actions were carried out to detect passenger transport without authorisation.
