Vélez-Málaga hosts more than 70 primary sector stands at the FIAX fair from October 23 to 25

The first International Fair of the Primary Sector and Business of the Axarquía · Costa del Sol (FIAX) is held from October 23 to 25 at the Recinto Ferial de Vélez-Málaga, from 10 to 18 hours, with Italy as guest country and more than 70 stands of agriculture, livestock, fishing and crafts.

The Axarquía will have its first international fair dedicated to the primary sector. FIAX · Raíces con Futuro is held from October 23 to 25 at the Recinto Ferial de Vélez-Málaga, from 10 to 18 hours, with more than 70 stands of farmers, livestock breeders, artisans, agricultural machinery and boats, according to the organization.

What you can find

The event connects agriculture, livestock, fishing and artisan production with buyers, distribution, restaurants, hospitality and technology and services companies. There will be professional business-to-business (B2B) meetings to facilitate commercial contacts and open sales channels, as well as training, innovation and artificial intelligence. Italy is the guest country and entrepreneurs from Bolivia also participate. The program is organized into three days: Origin, on Friday; Present, on Saturday; and Future, on Sunday. Workshops, tastings, children's activities, exhibitions and professional meetings are planned.

El Reto MasterChef

The fair will host the final of the second round of El Reto MasterChef World, the Televisión Española (TVE) program, with mentors, ambassadors and well-known faces such as Nagore Robles. Álex O'Dogherty will host the event and there will be showcookings, such as that of chef Julio Fernández. The contestants will work with local products.

Who it is for

The organization states that the goal is to bring the primary sector closer to young people and for them to learn about the work of farming, livestock and fishing, as well as its future opportunities. The president of Impulsa Axarquía, Cynthia Diaz, explains that the fair aims to be "a meeting point between companies, professionals and institutions". The president of the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Axarquía, Jorge Martín, highlights that the proposal "combines public and private initiative" and trusts that it will continue. The provincial deputy and councillor for Agriculture of Vélez-Málaga, Jesús María Claros, stresses the support of the Ayuntamiento and the Diputación de Málaga through the Sabor a Málaga brand. Viveros Brokaw is the official sponsor.
