Open call to be part of the jury of the COAC of the Málaga Carnival 2027

The Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga has appointed Fátima Ramírez Zea as president of the jury of the Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones de Canto (COAC) 2027 and keeps the deadline open until November 16 to submit candidacies for the rest of the jury.

Anyone who wishes to be part of the jury of the Official Competition of Singing Groups (COAC) of the Carnaval de Málaga 2027 can submit their candidacy until November 16. The Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga has set up a form for this process, according to the entity.

A president linked to the Carnaval since childhood

The Fundación has appointed Fátima Ramírez Zea as president of the jury of the COAC 2027. Born in Alhaurín el Grande in 1992, her relationship with the Carnaval began in childhood, accompanying her mother to the theater in her town. Her first experience on stage came in 2008, at 16, in the comparsa «Sueños de Mar», a project promoted with the collaboration of Ignacio López Soriano that did not end up taking part in the competition. In 2011 she made the leap to the COAC with the comparsa «Cosas de niños». A year later she was part of «Canela fina» and in 2013 she took part with «El salón de los espejos», a group with which she reached the semifinals and sang for the first time at the Teatro Cervantes. In 2018 she was chosen as pregonera of the Carnaval de Alhaurín el Grande and in 2026 she returned to the competition with «La comparsa del valle», a group with which she won the first prize in her category.

«A gift and a challenge»

The new president has stated that she received the offer with surprise and excitement. «Receiving this offer has been a surprise as unexpected as it is exciting. For me it is an immense honor», declared Ramírez Zea, who added that she faces the responsibility «with the utmost respect for the fiesta, for the groups that dedicate months of effort and passion to their coplas and for the malagueña fans».

The configuration of the jury is one of the steps prior to the start of a new edition of the competition, one of the main dates on the calendar of the Carnaval de Málaga.

Those interested in being part of the jury of the COAC 2027 must submit their candidacy through the form set up by the Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga. The deadline remains open until November 16.
