A delegation from the Port of Málaga, headed by its president, held meetings with producers, importers, exporters, operators and shipping companies at the Madrid fair, held from October 6 to 8.
The Port of Málaga has been present at the international Fruit Attraction fair, held from Tuesday, October 6 to Thursday, October 8 in Madrid, in order to generate business opportunities for the fruit and vegetable sector.
Meetings with the supply chain
The Málaga delegation, led by the president of the Port Authority, Carlos Rubio Basabe, had a space at the Puertos del Estado stand. From there it carried out an agenda of meetings with producers, importers, exporters, logistics operators and shipping companies linked to the fruit and vegetable supply chain.
According to the Port Authority of Málaga, during the fair the capabilities of the port infrastructure for this type of product were presented, as well as its maritime connections and the possibilities that Málaga offers as an entry and exit point for refrigerated goods destined for the national and European market.
According to the same source, the meetings addressed aspects such as operability, cold chain preservation, traceability and coordination among the different agents of the logistics chain.
The Port Authority states that participation in the fair allowed direct contact to be maintained with the members of the logistics chain, with the aim of identifying new traffic and establishing or consolidating commercial alliances.
A week marked by logistics
The presence at Fruit Attraction opens a week focused on logistics activity and the fruit and vegetable sector in Málaga. On Friday, October 9, the third edition of Málaga Fruit Day will be held in Málaga, a professional meeting that will bring together representatives of production, import, export, shipping companies and logistics operators to analyze opportunities linked to the Port of Málaga.
On that same day, the first Fiesta Logística del Puerto de Málaga will also be held, an initiative that, according to the Port Authority, seeks to bring together the Port Community and professionals from the logistics chain.
