The fantasy film festival of the University of Málaga (Fancine) puts tickets for the screenings of its 36th edition on sale this Friday, October 30, at 11:00, under the slogan «Programados para amar». The festival will be held from November 10 to 17. The price is four euros per screening.

How to buy and how much it costs

Tickets for the screenings at Cine Albéniz can be purchased through fancine.org and the usual Unientradas channels, both on its website and at the box offices of Cine Albéniz and Teatro Cervantes. At the box office, a pass for ten different films is also offered for 30 euros. The full programme, with times and venues, is already available on the festival's official website.

83 titles and a break on Wednesday 11

The event will bring together 83 titles and a programme of parallel activities to be held at Cine Albéniz, the UMA's Contenedor Cultural and other venues in the city. The edition will open on Tuesday, November 10, with the screening of «5 minutos más», by Javier Ruiz Caldera, the first Spanish film chosen to open Fancine. Due to the general strike call, the festival will have no activities or screenings on Wednesday 11 and will resume its programme the following day, until the closing on Tuesday 17.

The «gatetes» passport

The Pasaporte Fancine reaches its eleventh edition with a collection of stickers: it proposes watching twenty films from the programme, including the ten competing in the Official Section and another nine selected from different sections. For each ticket purchased for one of the participating titles, the corresponding sticker is obtained and added to the passport; once the minimum number of stickers is collected, it can be exchanged for promotional festival gifts. The wildcard cat is kept, allowing one of the stickers to be replaced. Illustrator and animation director Alberto Vázquez, with five Goya awards, designs this year's artwork, taking over from María Medem.

Guests and jury

Six films from different sections will have their teams present. Among them are Norma Vila, director of «Salitre»; Javi Prada, who will present «Gummy»; Óscar Martín and Elena Muñoz, director and screenwriter of «Upiro»; Roc Espinet, director of «Chica y lobo»; the Frenchman Quarxx, with «The Ones Who Grieve»; and Anthony Oberbeck and Megan Koester with «Little Doors», which will have its premiere in Spain. Oberbeck will combine the presentation with his work on the Official Jury, alongside Rafael Robles «Rafatal» and Ángeles Huerta, in charge of choosing the best film in the Official Competition Section, a prize worth 6,000 euros. The Young Jury, made up of six UMA students, will for the first time award a prize of 1,500 euros to the best feature film in the Official Section.
