A match settled in the second half

The Málaga side dominated from the start, with more possession and presence in the opposition half, although the score did not change before half-time. The clearest chance of the first half came in the 40th minute, when Dotor headed a cross from Calero and the ball went wide of one side of the goal. After the break, Funes brought on Haitam, D. Larrubia and Chupe. Eneko warned in the 47th minute with a cross-shot that went slightly wide and, in the 56th, Dani Lorenzo replaced Berrocal.

Two goals from Chupe and one from Dani Lorenzo

Chupe opened the scoring in the 71st minute by converting a penalty awarded for a foul on Haitam. Six minutes later, the home side was reduced to ten players after the sending-off of Antonio Avilés Ransanz following a hard tackle on the white-and-blue player. Chupe himself extended the lead in the 80th minute: he received from Izan Merino, controlled, turned and finished with his left foot. A minute later, Funes used his last substitution with the introduction of Carlos Puga. Dani Lorenzo scored the third in the 88th minute, taking advantage of a loose ball after a shot by Chupe following a corner taken by Larrubia. The definitive 0-3 sealed the victory and Málaga CF's qualification for the next round.
