Ronda municipalizes urban transport and will add three electric buses
Ronda's plenary session definitively approves that the urban bus service will be managed by the municipal company Turismo de Ronda, S. A., with three new electric vehicles that will reach all neighborhoods.
The Ronda City Council has definitively approved, at the ordinary September plenary session, the municipalization of the urban transport service. From now on, the municipal company Turismo de Ronda, S. A. will provide the service directly.
Three electric buses
In parallel, the municipal administration has awarded the purchase of three new vehicles, one hundred percent electric and accessible, which will make it possible to reach all the neighborhoods of the city.
2025 municipal accounts
The same plenary session gave the green light to the City Council's 2025 general account, which shows a positive result of more than two and a half million euros. The Councilor for Economy, Ángel Martínez, detailed the actions carried out in Ronda. The mayor, Mari Paz Fernández, noted that over the last eight years investments of more than thirty million euros have been made in the city.
Alternative road to the Puente Nuevo
The plenary session has also promoted an alternative road to the Puente Nuevo, which will run through the area of the arroyo de Las Culebras and seeks to improve mobility by offering a different urban route to crossing that bridge. The Councilor for Urban Planning, Jesús Vázquez, defended the project, which he said has the favorable reports, including environmental ones.
Land next to the Hospital and other agreements
In urban planning matters, the development of land in the area around the Hospital has been provisionally approved, at private initiative, which envisages a commercial and industrial area in line with current regulations. The action will also include a second vehicle access to the healthcare complex and a pedestrian access.
The plenary session has also approved the declaration of World Mental Health Day and the reduction of the tax on constructions, installations and works (ICIO) for the Diputación de Málaga for the construction, in the La Dehesa neighborhood, of a bioeconomy building. According to the mayor, this facility will also strengthen the training offer of Vocational Training (FP) cycles in Ronda, given the general interest of the project for the city.
