The official sales and promotion market for Spanish cinema takes place from March 2 to 4 as part of the 30th Málaga Festival.

The Málaga Festival has opened the call for Spanish Screenings Content 2027, the official sales and promotion market for Spanish cinema, which will be held from March 2 to 4 within the MAFIZ industry area and as part of the 30th edition of the event. Film registration is already underway and is aimed at production companies, sales agents and distributors that want to place their titles with international buyers.
What the market offers
Over the three days, international buyers, sales agents, executives from video-on-demand platforms, festival programmers, national and international distributors and foreign producers will have access to the latest Spanish productions. In 2027 the event reaches its 21st edition.
The planned activities include Market Screenings, with screenings at the Rosaleda multiplexes; Market Premieres, for private screenings of productions not yet premiered at any other international market; Neo Screenings, dedicated to the most innovative cinema; Festival Official Selection, with Spanish films from the Official Section and ZonaZine; and Next from Spain, with trailers of films in post-production that will be released in 2026-2027.
Library and other sections
The programme is completed by Video Library, an online platform for viewing Spanish films and series produced since the last quarter of 2025; Remake It!, focused on the sale of formats; Regional Film Hub, to promote the cinematography of the different regions; Spain Colorful Diversity, where the autonomous communities present locations, filming support plans and tax advantages; and Spain ScoreCom, for musicians and soundtrack composers.
Registration deadlines
Films for Market Screenings, Neo Screenings and Market Premieres can be registered until February 9, 2027. For Next from Spain, Remake It, Regional Film Hub and Video Library, the deadline ends on February 16, 2027. The rules and registration are available at the MAFIZ website.
The event is organised by the Málaga City Council through the Málaga Festival, with the collaboration of ICAA, ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones and A/C Acción Cultural Española.
