Málaga's PSOE demands the Junta draw up an urgent plan to speed up dependency care
The general secretary of Málaga's PSOE, Josele Aguilar, calls on Juanma Moreno to commit to interurban transport and a crash plan to reduce dependency care waiting lists.

The general secretary of the PSOE of Málaga, Josele Aguilar, called on Monday on Juanma Moreno's Government for a commitment to interurban public transport to address the mobility problems of Málaga and its metropolitan area. Aguilar appeared alongside the coordinator of the Parliamentary Cabinet of the PSOE of Málaga, Ignacio López, before the meeting of the socialist parliamentary group.
Aguilar noted that urban transport depends on the city councils, while interurban transport is the responsibility of the Junta de Andalucía. According to what he explained, Málaga has been operating for more than twenty years with an outdated transport concessions map and with expired concessions, and he criticized the regional Executive for not having presented a new model after eight years in government. "We demand that Juanma Moreno stop confronting the Government of Spain on this matter and get on with managing what are his own responsibilities, which is interurban passenger transport," he stated.
Aguilar also referred to the reform of the dependency and disability laws, definitively approved by the Congress of Deputies. He asked Moreno Bonilla to launch an action plan to speed up dependency processing in Andalusia. According to what he denounced, the region maintains a double waiting list: one for the recognition of the right and another so that, once the degree is recognized, the assigned resource arrives.
For his part, Ignacio López pointed out that the dependency reform affects more than 60,000 beneficiaries in Málaga and put the additional resources that will reach the province at 145 million euros. According to López, the reform eliminates incompatibilities between benefits, guarantees contributions for caregivers, reduces bureaucratic procedures and strengthens accessibility and protection for women and minors with disabilities. López called on the Junta de Andalucía, responsible for managing the system, to speed up aid for the more than 8,000 people who, as he indicated, are still waiting in Málaga.
López also praised the planned investment, as he said, of more than 830 million euros for Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, aimed at expanding the terminal, improving processes and adapting the facilities to the growth in passenger traffic.
Finally, López conveyed the solidarity of the PSOE of Málaga with Ceuta given the situation the autonomous city is going through and called for cooperation among institutions to help resolve the humanitarian situation.
