Espetos, livestock and wine tasting close FIAX in Vélez-Málaga

The Axarquía primary sector fair bids farewell to its first edition this Sunday with El Reto MasterChef, horse exhibitions and the awards ceremony.

The Axarquía has its last chance this Sunday to visit FIAX · Raíces con Futuro, the first International Fair of the Primary Sector and Business of the region, organised by the Asociación Impulsa Axarquía. The Vélez-Málaga fairground opens from 10:00 to 18:00 with gastronomy, livestock and family leisure activities to close three days of fair under the slogan «Futuro».

Gastronomy and wine tasting

From 10:00 to 12:00, El Reto MasterChef returns to the main tent stage. Throughout the day, the Málaga Gastronómica space offers tastings, workshops and live cooking demonstrations, together with bilingual tastings of Wines of Murcia at 12:30 and 16:30 and a cocktail proposal at 13:30, within the cycle Los tres tiempos de Málaga en coctelería para FIAX. From 14:00, the Zona Fuego brings back the espeto, one of the dishes most identified with the Málaga coast.

Livestock and family activities

The Zona Ganadería hosts horse and mule exhibitions between 11:00 and 14:00, and again between 15:00 and 18:00. The «Conecta con tus Raíces» tent reserves, from 10:00 to 14:00, exhibition spaces, children's activities and a foodtruck area designed to visit the fair as a family.

A fair with international reach

According to the organisation, FIAX has brought together in this first edition more than 70 exhibition spaces for agriculture, livestock, fishing, machinery, crafts, gastronomy and specialised services. Italy has participated as guest country, with the presence of the Sicilian city of Noto, and Bolivia has also been represented. The agri-food brand of the Diputación Provincial, Sabor a Málaga, has had twelve companies and its own exhibition space. The fair also has the sponsorship of Viveros Brokaw in the agricultural area.

Closing ceremony and awards

From 16:00 to 18:00, the main tent hosts the FIAX awards and the closing ceremony of this first edition, in which the participation of producers, companies, professionals, sponsors and institutions involved in the project will be recognised. Impulsa Axarquía, as stated in its communication, aspires for FIAX to become established as the annual reference event for the primary sector, entrepreneurship, gastronomy and business relations in the region. The fair, with free entry according to the programme, takes place at the Vélez-Málaga fairground this Sunday, October 25, from 10:00 to 18:00.
