The San Miguel pilgrimage brings together more than 200,000 people in Torremolinos
The pilgrimage, held on Sunday, marks the start of the patron saint festivities, which will kick off on Friday, September 25 with the proclamation by the Gómez Quesada family and will run until Tuesday, September 29.

Torremolinos brought together more than 200,000 people on Sunday at the San Miguel pilgrimage, according to the statement issued by the City Council. The day marks the starting shot for the patron saint festivities, which this year will begin on Friday, September 25 and will run until Tuesday, September 29, the day of the city's patron saint, San Miguel Arcángel.
The pilgrimage began at nine in the morning with mass and the blessing of the pilgrims at the ermita. Afterwards, the image of the patron saint was moved to Avenida de los Manantiales, where the carts gathered and a further mass was held. At half past ten in the morning, the procession set off towards the Pinar de los Manantiales along a route that included Avenida de los Manantiales, Plaza Costa del Sol, Avenida Palma de Mallorca, Avenida Joan Miró, Calle Rafael Quintana Rosado, the Carretera de Benalmádena and the Cruce del Pozuelo.
The procession was made up of 54 carts and once again featured the participation of the Málaga Local Police on horseback, who led the procession, as highlighted by the mayor, Margarita del Cid.
