Málaga awards the works to create 58 parking spaces in Los Corazones
The City Council has awarded, for almost 220,000 euros, the works for new parking spaces and improvement of the road network in the Los Corazones neighbourhood, in the Cruz del Humilladero district, with an execution period of six months.

The Málaga City Council, through the Urban Planning Area, has awarded the works to create 58 new parking spaces and reorganise the road network in several streets of the Los Corazones neighbourhood, in the Cruz del Humilladero district. The execution corresponds to the joint venture UTE Eiffage Infraestructuras-Conacon, for an amount of 219,887.44 euros, VAT included, and a period of six months.
According to the note issued by the City Council, the intervention is part of the municipal framework agreement for paving works, infrastructure renovation and green areas, within the lot corresponding to Cruz del Humilladero. The aim is to compensate for the removal of the provisional parking that existed on the plot where the new CaixaForum Málaga building will be built.
The new spaces will be distributed as follows: on Calle Corregidor Antonio de Bobadilla, nine spaces will be created on the eastern side and twenty-one on the western side; on Calle Corregidor Paz y Guzmán, twenty-one spaces will be made available; and on Calle Luis Francisco Pallardó Peinado, seven spaces.
The increase will be achieved by converting sections of parallel parking into angled parking and adapting the street sections. To this end, some sections of pavement will be reduced in a controlled manner, always maintaining pedestrian walkways with a clear width of more than 1.80 metres.
The parking areas will be built with a trowelled concrete slab and straight concrete kerb at the transition with the pavement. The affected pedestrian areas will be repaved with 40 by 40 by 5 centimetre terrazzo tiles, with a design similar to the existing one in the surrounding area.
The works also include demolitions, earthworks, level adjustments, horizontal and vertical signage, and the levelling of manhole covers, inspection chambers and other surface elements.
