Málaga displays the award-winning works from the 26th Premio Fundación Unicaja de Artesanía
The Museo Fundación Unicaja de Artes y Costumbres Populares is showing thirty pieces from six craft disciplines until November 15, including the winning works of this edition.

The Museo Fundación Unicaja de Artes y Costumbres Populares de Málaga, at plaza Enrique García-Herrera, number 1, is exhibiting until November 15 the works selected and awarded in the 26th edition of the Premio Fundación Unicaja de Artesanía. The exhibition brings together thirty pieces spread across six disciplines: ceramics, leather, ironwork, wood carving, tapestries and textiles, and goldsmithing and jewelry.
Among the works on display are this year's award winners: Alfonso Hidalgo Góngora and Laura Hidalgo Cruz, for «Cruce de culturas» (ceramics); José Antonio Pereira, for «Soledad» (leather); Francisco Garrido, for «Las alas del renacimiento que miran al sur» (ironwork); Juan Manuel Molina, for «Con razón» (wood carving); Ilia Mitxelena, for «Velut umbra» (goldsmithing and jewelry); and Laura Siles, for «Iruten Har Nuzu. El ritual y el tejido, el canto y la reunión» (tapestries and textiles).
Also on display are the works «O Ser Dela», by Pablo Rodríguez, and «Rosetón gótico», by Juan Carlos García, which received the special awards Fundación Unicaja Jaén and Premio Jaén, the latter linked to creators born or residing in the province of Jaén, according to the statement sent by Fundación Unicaja.
The Premio Fundación Unicaja de Artesanía was held for the first time in 1987 and is endowed with twenty-two thousand euros distributed among the different categories. Over its twenty-six editions it has promoted and spread craft creation, helping to preserve traditional trades.
Hours and visit
The exhibition «XXVI Premio Fundación Unicaja de Artesanía» can be visited Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. On Sundays and holidays, the hours are from 10:00 to 14:00. The exhibition remains open until November 15.
