PSOE of Málaga states there are 1,053 more Police and Guardia Civil officers since 2018
The Organization Secretary of the Málaga PSOE, José Bernal, maintains that the number of State Security Forces and Corps personnel in the province has grown by more than 20% since Pedro Sánchez came to the Government.

The Organization Secretary of the PSOE of Málaga, José Bernal, has stated that the numbers of Policía Nacional and Guardia Civil officers in the province have increased by more than 20% since Pedro Sánchez came to the Government of Spain, which amounts, according to his figures, to 1,053 more officers.
According to the data presented by Bernal, in 2018 there were 5,120 officers of both corps in the province of Málaga, compared to the current 6,173. «Today there are 1,053 more officers. Pedro Sánchez has increased the officers of the Fuerzas y Cuerpos de Seguridad del Estado in Málaga by more than 20% since he has been governing,» he stated.
The socialist leader has contrasted these figures with the period of Mariano Rajoy at the head of the Government, during which, he said, 389 officers were cut in the province.
Bernal has recalled that since 2018 the Plan Especial de Seguridad para el Campo de Gibraltar against drug trafficking has been underway, which, he affirmed, «has translated into more officers, more resources, and more investment».
The head of the PSOE of Málaga has also criticized the position of the Partido Popular on the fight against drug trafficking. He described the PP's strategy on this matter as «irresponsible and dishonest» and asked the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, and the PP to «stop spreading fear». He also questioned Moreno speaking about drug trafficking alongside the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the mayor of Marbella, whose stepson, according to Bernal, was convicted by the Audiencia Nacional for drug trafficking and money laundering.
Bernal concluded that «no one believes the promise» of Feijóo and Moreno Bonilla to end drug trafficking on the Costa del Sol, according to the statement issued by the PSOE of Málaga.
