· In this urban walk through the center of Málaga we will delve into the history of Spanish in the Philippines. Through it, we will reflect on how the expansion of Spanish took place in the Philippine archipelago since its conquest in the 16th century, assessing what Spanish emerged as a result of the cultural contact in that strategic enclave that opened trade with the great Asian powers (what chabacano is, what linguistic loanwords we have from the Philippine languages, but also what Spanish words endure in Tagalog).
