Urban walk l The merchants' palace-houses of Alameda Principal. Getting to know nearby cultural heritage accompanied by our pets

· Starting point: Alameda Principal, at the foot of the tower of the former La Equitativa building.
· This cultural walk, which forms part of the Open House Málaga programme, allows us to get to know an everyday urban and architectural heritage, specifically that of one of the main and busiest thoroughfares of the city: Alameda Principal, an axis conceived following the criteria of the Enlightenment. It was designed at the end of the 18th century and was expanded at the beginning of the following century, the 19th, becoming an important green lung and a space for enjoyment thanks to its tree-lined avenues and decorative elements, continuing its adaptation into later centuries, the 20th and the 21st. In this place, the wealthiest social classes decided to build their residences and also houses to rent, in the same way that tourist accommodations and headquarters of notable institutions were established. Numerous original buildings are still preserved today, some with greater or lesser transformations, both in form and in use. As we will be accompanied by our pets, the route will be carried out at a more leisurely pace, in keeping with the rhythm of the animals accompanying us, thus offering an interesting experience that combines interest in heritage while also being able to walk with our pets, actions that are not always compatible when visiting a heritage site.
