The last regional fair of the season will showcase the products of 36 producers from 20 municipalities

Mijas, September 23, 2026.- Sabor a Málaga, the label promoting the agri-food sector created by the Diputación Provincial, arrives this Friday in La Cala. The showcase is set up as the ninth and last regional fair of the season, which, located on the coastal boulevard, will display a large representation of the local pantry, more than 350 artisan products made by 36 companies from 20 municipalities of the province.

This was announced by the mayor of Mijas, Ana Mata, and the director of Sabor a Málaga, Leonor García-Agua, during the presentation of the event. The mayor highlighted the prominence of the municipality in the field of provincial agri-food production, both because of its coastal and inland terrain, and because of its exceptional location and tourist potential.

"Mijas is the perfect showcase to display the quality and exceptionality of the zero-kilometer products of our province. As last year, I am convinced that this edition of Sabor a Málaga will be a complete success," she said. She also recalled that in 2025 this event held in Mijas recorded a business volume of 120,000 euros.

For her part, García-Agua indicated that over three days, "besides being able to purchase the artisan products made by our producers, visitors will be able to enjoy a varied program with more than fifteen activities for the whole family. Among the proposals presented today are wine and cheese tastings, cocktail workshops, gourmet sandwiches, a masterclass by chef Juan Carmona, as well as children's activities, music and dance.

This event combines the promotion of local products, the encouragement of Málaga's gastronomic culture and family leisure as an essential strategy for the economic and employment recovery in key sectors for our province such as agri-food and hospitality.

This is the fifth year that Sabor a Málaga has come to Mijas, closing in the city the calendar of regional fairs of the 2026 season, which has toured the municipalities of Torremolinos, Vélez Málaga, Benalmádena, Torrox, Nerja, Ronda, Antequera and Rincón de la Victoria, where great success in participation and visits was achieved.

During this last stop in Mijas, residents and visitors will be able to purchase and taste a varied representation of the most significant products of our regions, such as extra virgin olive oils, wines with the 'Málaga' and 'Sierras de Málaga' Protected Designation of Origin, Málaga goat cheeses, traditional cured meats and sausages and Iberian products, as well as olives and pickles, artisan breads and sweets, gluten-free pastries, jams and marmalades, coffees from local roasters, chocolates, honeys, ice creams, subtropical fruits, craft beers, liqueurs and natural cosmetics made from citrus fruits from the Valle del Guadalhorce.

A rich pantry that holds the qualities and flavors of zero-kilometer products, specifically from twenty municipalities such as Alhaurín el Grande, Almargen, Antequera, Ardales, Arriate, Benamargosa, Coín, Colmenar, Faraján, Málaga, Mijas, Mollina, Periana, Pizarra, Rincón de la Victoria, Riogordo, Ronda, Teba, Vélez-Málaga and Villanueva del Trabuco.

Producers

The producers participating on this occasion are aceite Finca Rosa Alta, Juan de La Madre, Aceites Periana, Oro Al-Ándalus, Agro-Olivarera de Riogordo, Almazara Terraverne, Bodega Kieninger, Carpe Diem, quesos Cabraline, El Pastor Del Torcal, La Cañada del Capitán, Quesos Montes de Málaga and Quesos El Pinsapo, El Pastor del Valle, Carnes y Chacinas La Torcaleña, Carnicería Aragón, Ibéricos Langenal, Embutidos Orozco, Aceitunas Roldán, Bema Tropik, Miel Productores Hnos. Gallardo, Miel y Polen La Fraguara, Bizcochería Lulapai, Obrador Tejeros, Panadería Confitería Cristo Rey, The Coven Obrador, Celiali Gluten Free, Las Delicias de Mi Noe, De La Gitanilla Mermeladas Alma Melosa, Chocolates Maychoco, Capricho Helado Artesano, Cafés Mokasol, cafés La Hacienda Tostador de Café, cervezas Gaitanejo, La Tradición de Arriate, Mesura and Aceites Esenciales Eva / Cítrica Pizarra.

Program of activities

The fair will open its doors this Friday, September 25 at 11:00, with the welcome of the participating producers and the opening of the exhibition spaces. At 12:00 the official inauguration by the authorities will take place, followed by an institutional visit to the producers.

The first day will continue with gastronomic proposals such as gourmet sandwiches, at 13:00, made with Sabor a Málaga products, and an activity dedicated to aperitif wines, Málaga citrus fruits and other products of the province, scheduled for 14:00. At 15:00, visitors will be able to enjoy a lunch break with Málaga gastronomy and local products.

The afternoon will be dominated by culture and music. At 17:30, UP de Mijas, under the direction of teacher Remedios Fernández, will offer a performance of traditional dances. The day will end with a live musical performance by Mami Curl, starting at 20:30, before the fair closes at 21:00.

Gastronomy and music, the highlights of Saturday

On Saturday, September 26, the fair will remain open from 11:00 to 21:00 and will again combine gastronomic proposals with cultural and musical activities.

The program will begin at 11:00 and will continue at midday with the showcooking 'A chef with many resources: grilling, fish and Italian cuisine', by Juanjo Carmona, chef of the restaurants Flour, Aviva and Salitre.

At 13:00 it will be the turn of Málaga cocktail-making, with a workshop dedicated to the Málaga mojito by Mesura. An hour later, Málaga goat cheeses will be the focus of a presentation and tasting of semi-cured, cured cheeses of different varieties, led by the cheese artisans themselves.

After the lunch break, the program will continue at 18:30 with the Baile UP, directed by teacher Víctor Rojas. At 19:00, the group Marca Blanca will offer a live musical show for the whole family. The day will close at 21:00.

Workshops and music for the whole family on Sunday

The third and last day, Sunday, September 27, will run from 11:00 to 20:00. The program will start with the opening of the fair and will continue at 12:00 with a children's workshop on making cookies, in which the little ones will be able to learn and enjoy preparing sweets with Las Delicias de mi Noe.

At 13:30, the gastronomic program will focus on the cured meats of the province, with a tasting and presentation of the variety of local meat products. As on previous days, at 15:00 there will be a break to enjoy Málaga gastronomy and the products of the province.

Music will take over during the afternoon. At 17:30, Jesús Miguel Navas, accompanied by his viola, will offer a live performance. As the final touch of the fair, at 19:00 a flamenco concert by Rafael Losada will take place.

The Feria Comarcal Sabor a Málaga will bid farewell to this edition at 20:00, with the closing of the day and the farewell of the participating producers. The Feria Comarcal Sabor a Málaga is once again established as an exceptional showcase for the promotion of gastronomy and local production, with activities designed for all audiences and an ideal setting to discover the most authentic flavor of the province.
