Antequera hosts the 10th Mediation Conference on October 23, focused on the family

The Assembly Hall of the Museo de la Ciudad de Antequera (MVCA) will host the 10th Mediation Conference on Friday, October 23, dedicated this year to intervention with families from a restorative perspective. Registration is free and places are limited.

The Salón de Actos del Museo de la Ciudad de Antequera (MVCA), in plaza del Coso Viejo, will host on Friday, October 23 the X Jornadas de Mediación en Antequera, which this year are titled «Intervención con familias desde la mirada restaurativa y mediadora». The event is organised by the Ayuntamiento de Antequera and the entity Solucion@ and will bring together specialists in mediation and restorative practices.

Who it is for and how to sign up

The conference is aimed at professionals in law, psychology, social work, social education, public administrations and other fields linked to family and community intervention, although anyone interested in mediation as a tool for managing conflicts can also take part. Participation is free, with limited places, and registrations are made through the QR code on the announcement poster or on the website mediacionsoluciona.com. According to the president of Solucion@, Antonio Fernández, at the time of the presentation 48 registrations from different professional profiles had already been recorded.

Programme of the day

The morning session will start at 09:30 with the institutional opening. At 10:00, Anna Vall Rius will give the talk «Espectro de las prácticas restaurativas»; at 10:45, Gabriela Rodríguez Querejazu will give the lecture «Sostenernos juntos: desarrollo y fortalecimiento de vínculos saludables». After a break, at 12:00 the discussion «Intervención con familias, diferentes abordajes» will be held, led by Lola Montejo Cumilleras, and at 12:45 there will be a round table on the Servicio de Mediación Policial de Antequera, moderated by the head of the Policía Local, Francisco Alcántara. The morning will close at 13:30 with the closing ceremony. In the afternoon, between 16:30 and 17:30, a restorative circle of thanks and tribute to Jean Schmitz will be held, an international reference in restorative justice who died last May and was linked to Antequera, a city where he took part in training activities.

Collaboration since 2012

Antonio Fernández has recalled that the collaboration between Solucion@ and the Ayuntamiento de Antequera on mediation dates back to 2012, and includes a family mediation service and the holding of these training conferences. The deputy mayor delegated for Cooperación Ciudadana, Alberto Arana, has explained that this tenth edition adds a space dedicated to the Servicio de Mediación Policial de Antequera.
