The program also includes activities on the previous days, within what the Ayuntamiento calls the Semana de los Verdiales.

Performances and styles

During the night of the festival, several pandas de verdiales of different styles will perform. The Panda de El Borge and the Arroyo Conca will take part, both of the Comares style; the Jotrón and Lomillas pandas and the Primera de Benagalbón, of the Montes style; and Raíces de Almogía "El Negocio", of the Almogía style. As explained by the mayor of El Borge, Raúl Vallejo, attendees will be able to enjoy the three styles until approximately 00:30 hours, when puchero and tostas de pringá will be offered to the participants.

Previous activities

The program will start on Friday with the discussion "Verdialero: la competitividad en la Fiesta Verdialera", in which Antonio Romero Ponce, who will speak about the Comares style; Carlos Torregosa Martín, of the Montes style; and Jesús Antonio Martín Lara, of the Almogía style, will take part. As noted by the concejal de Agricultura, Hugo Fernández, the discussion will address the historical rivalry between the different verdiales styles. On Friday, October 9, from nine at night, a singing contest will be held at the Posada del Bandolero, focused on the Comares style. There will be prizes of 160 euros for the winner, 120 euros for the second-place finisher and 80 euros for the third.

Presentation of the festival

The festival has been presented by the vicepresidenta of the Mancomunidad, Marilé Muñiz; the mayor of El Borge, Raúl Vallejo; the concejal de Agricultura, Hugo Fernández; and the president of the Panda de El Borge, Salvador Muñoz.
