Fuengirola Town Hall will switch on the Christmas lighting on Friday, November 27, and it will remain until January 6. This year there will be 2,771,512 LED light points, 286,797 more than the previous Christmas.
Fuengirola's Christmas lighting will have 2,771,512 LED lights this season, compared with 2,484,715 last year, an increase of 286,797 lights. The switch-on will be on Friday, November 27, and the installation will remain until January 6, as announced by the councillor for Fiestas, Isabel Moreno.
Arches, streetlights and figures
The display includes 446 light arches, 164 decorated streetlights and another 700 lighting elements installed and ornamented directly by the Ayuntamiento on municipally owned streetlights. Added to these are 27 grouped sets, 14 illuminated façades, 63 ground figures and thousands of metres of garlands and other decorative motifs distributed around the main streets and squares of the municipality.
Plaza de España will once again be one of the central points of the programme, with shows and sessions that the Ayuntamiento presents as one of the main attractions of these festivities for families and visitors.
Lighting also designed for commerce
According to the councillor, the lighting and the Christmas programme also aim to generate economic activity and benefit commercial establishments, hospitality and local businesses. Moreno has stated that the arrival of visitors from other municipalities in the province and from different parts of Andalucía is an opportunity for businesses to increase their sales during the campaign, both through gift purchases and through spending in bars, restaurants and terraces.
«We want streets full of people, businesses with activity, lively terraces and a living city», said the councillor for Fiestas, who closed her speech with the phrase «when Fuengirola shines, we all shine».
Lighting dates
The switch-on is scheduled for Friday, November 27 and the lighting will remain installed until January 6. The information comes from the Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola.
