The Agrupación de Cofradías de Semana Santa de Málaga will receive on Friday, October 16, Monsignor Kike Figaredo, apostolic prefect of Battambang, in Cambodia. The Jesuit, known as "the bishop of wheelchairs", will preside over a Eucharist at 19.00 hours in the church of San Julián and will then hold a discussion with those attending about the mission he carries out alongside the most vulnerable people.

Charity dance at La Caja Blanca

Within the same initiative, the Agrupación sponsors the show "Danza, dignidad y encuentro", which is held on Thursday, October 15 at 19.00 hours at La Caja Blanca, on avenida del Editor Ángel Caffarena, 8. The performance features 33 young people from the Escuela de Baile Clásico y Tradicional de Tahen, some of them in wheelchairs. The event commemorates the 25th anniversary of SAUCE ONG and will allocate all proceeds to its projects in Cambodia. The Universidad de Málaga, the Ayuntamiento de Málaga and the Fundación "la Caixa" collaborate.

Tickets and row zero

Tickets cost 10 euros for adults and 5 euros for minors up to and including 16 years old. They can be purchased at the Agrupación's headquarters, at calle Muro de San Julián, 2; before the performance at La Caja Blanca; or online. Those who wish to collaborate without attending can use a row zero of 10 euros. The visit strengthens the Agrupación's ties with this community, where since 2025 a replica of the Santísimo Cristo Resucitado, titular of the institution, is venerated. That relationship has also taken shape in collaboration to fund wheelchairs for people with disabilities in Cambodia.
