The Tourism Commission of the Málaga Chamber of Commerce has held a meeting in which the head of the Andalucía-Mediterráneo Coastal Demarcation has presented the state of the Málaga coastline and its challenges for the tourism sector.

The Tourism Committee of the Cámara de Comercio de Málaga held a new meeting this Wednesday, October 14, in which the state of the city's beaches was one of the central issues. Ángel González Castiñeira, head of the Demarcación de Costas Andalucía-Mediterráneo, dependent on the Dirección General de la Costa y el Mar of the Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, took part in the meeting.

A presentation on the coastline

His presentation, entitled «Estado de las playas: oportunidades y retos del litoral de Málaga», served to address issues that the Cámara links to the competitiveness and sustainability of the tourist destination. The session was chaired by Francisco Montero, together with the other members of the committee.

Review of 2026 and proposals for 2027

During the meeting, a review was also made of the main actions carried out by the Cámara de Comercio de Málaga throughout 2026, and proposals and tourism promotion initiatives for 2027 were shared. The institution places business collaboration and strategic planning as the axes for maintaining Málaga's positioning as a destination.

Recent meetings of the institution

The Cámara de Comercio de Málaga has held other meetings in recent weeks. On September 30 it brought together its Comité Ejecutivo at facilities of the Autoridad Portuaria de Málaga, in a session headed by its president, José Carlos Escribano, as reported by this portal. On October 12, the entity received the Premio Quién es Quién a la Excelencia Empresarial during the presentation of the Quién es Quién en Málaga 2026 directory.
