The Marbella City Council, through its Youth department, has presented the Fundatul association with a cheque for 1,200 euros from the proceeds of the solidarity ecocups at the Juerga Fest festival, held on June 6 in the parque del Mediterráneo.

What the solidarity ecocups are

Ecocups are the reusable cups used at the event: the money raised with them goes to a social organisation in the municipality. In this edition, the amount raised comes to 1,200 euros and goes entirely to Fundatul. The Senatus youth association was in charge of running the festival bar and making the donation, according to the City Council.

The presentation event

The Youth councillor, Alejandro González, stressed during the event that «this initiative makes it possible to combine youth leisure with social commitment and to contribute to the important work carried out by the organisations of our municipality». The councillor was accompanied by the manager of Fundatul, María José Pando, and by representatives of Senatus.

Who benefits

The donation goes to Fundatul, an organisation that carries out its social work in the municipality. The amount comes from the proceeds obtained with the festival's reusable cups, which was held on June 6 in the parque del Mediterráneo.

What a cheque is

A cheque is a document by which a person authorised to draw on an account orders a credit institution to pay a specific amount to a beneficiary. In this case, the City Council presents Fundatul with a cheque for 1,200 euros.
