Estepona's coastal corridor will have 162 new solar streetlights spread across seven areas. The Town Council has awarded the company Roura Cevasa the supply and installation of these lights for an amount of 137,266.50 euros, according to the Council.

Distribution by area

Benamara will have the largest number of lights, with 61 units, followed by Bahía Dorada beach, where 27 will be installed. The rest will be distributed among Guadalmansa, with 13 streetlights; La Gaspara, with 12; avenida de México and Bahía Dorada III, with 9 each; and Isdabe, with 7 streetlights. The winning bid includes as an improvement another 24 additional streetlights on top of the 138 initially planned, bringing the total to 162. Those 24 extra lights will be distributed along sections of the coastal corridor according to the needs identified by the technicians.

Solar technology

The equipment uses solar technology, so it uses solar radiation as its energy source to operate. This system makes it possible to have lighting without connecting it to the electricity grid and, according to the Town Council, promotes more sustainable lighting. The project includes both the supply of the lights and the work needed to install them at all these points.

Execution period

The planned period for supply and installation is 45 days from the signing of the contract.
