Juan Carlos Giardin takes office as PP councillor in Málaga
Mayor Francisco de la Torre presided over the ceremony this midday in which Giardin replaces Elisa Pérez de Siles in the Grupo Municipal Popular.

Juan Carlos Giardin took office this Thursday as councillor of the Grupo Municipal Popular at the Ayuntamiento de Málaga, replacing Elisa Pérez de Siles. The ceremony, held at midday, was presided over by the mayor, Francisco de la Torre, according to the statement released by the Ayuntamiento.
Giardin, born in Málaga in 1964, is head of Distrito 7 (Carretera de Cádiz). He holds a diploma in Ciencias Policiales y Detective Privado from the Universidad de Elche and is a teacher accredited by the Ministerio del Interior to provide training to private security personnel.
He has been a municipal civil servant since 1989, within the Policía Local. For twenty-two years he worked as an officer in various postings, including the Unidad de Seguridad Ciudadana, the Unidad de Motoristas and the Brigada K. In 2011 he moved up to the rank of Oficial, holding Police de Barrio leadership posts in the Este and Carretera de Cádiz districts.
He was director of the Palma-Palmilla district between 2011 and 2012, and has served as head of Distrito 7 since 2016. He has also been a reservist in the Marina since 2005.
