Málaga closes Paseo del Parque on Sunday 20 for the 'Day without a Car'
The City Council closes Paseo del Parque to traffic between 8:30 and 14:30 on Sunday as part of European Mobility Week, which runs from 16 to 22 September with workshops and activities throughout the city.

During the day on Sunday, several activities will take place on Paseo del Parque. The Local Police will display one of their vehicles and give demonstrations of the preventive checks they usually carry out. Civil Protection will show equipment from its volunteer groups and will run workshops on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the use of automated external defibrillators (AED) and bicycle repair, as well as skill gymkhanas.
The Environmental Sustainability Area will set up a tent with children's activities on environmental awareness. EMT Málaga will display historic and current buses to show the evolution of urban public transport. The Sports Area will offer, between 10:00 and 13:00, an artistic skating exhibition with the participation of Club Patinaje Al Andalus and CPV Málaga. The Mobility Area will set up an information point on Málaga's Low Emission Zone to answer queries.
Activities throughout the week
The programme will begin on Wednesday, September 16, as part of Green Cities, with two round tables on sustainable mobility. The Jefatura Provincial de Tráfico de Málaga, under the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT), has also organised several road safety education activities aimed at different age groups.
On Thursday, September 17, around forty second-grade Primary students from CEIP Bergamín will walk to the Centro de Participación Activa Málaga Trinidad I, where they will share games and workshops on road safety, child safety systems and safe mobility with elderly people.
On Monday, September 21, the DGT will run a workshop in the university area simulating the effects of alcohol, drugs and fatigue on driving, aimed especially at young people though open to the general public, using simulation glasses and a practical course.
The week will conclude on Tuesday, September 22, with a walking route organised by the DGT for users of the Centro Social de Mayores Doctor Marañón, to promote physical activity and active mobility. The route will include an informational activity on how air quality control stations work, in collaboration with the Environmental Sustainability Area.
