The Marbella City Council is adapting 32 of the municipality's 60 traffic-light junctions to the amendment of the General Traffic Regulations approved by the central government, which came into force on October 1. The work will continue until the end of November and will involve a municipal outlay of approximately 100,000 euros, according to the City Council.

It affects half of the junctions

The work covers somewhat more than half of the town's signalised intersections. The City Council states that the new state regulation requires studying each junction and its coordination with nearby intersections, in order to minimise disruptions to traffic.

Warning about mobility

The City Council warns of the technical difficulties posed by applying the rule and of its possible consequences for mobility. The adaptation is being carried out to comply with the new state regulation.

What it means for road users

The changes affect those driving through the municipality and pedestrians using the signal-controlled crossings at those 32 intersections. The works will be carried out in stages at each junction until the end of November.
