The Centro Fundación Unicaja Ronda hosts a concert by Samuel Diz entitled «Guitarras de la generación del 27». The recital closes the seminar «Joaquín Peinado, su museo y Ronda. 25 aniversario» and offers a journey through different musical aesthetics linked to that group of creators.

A legacy fragmented by exile

According to Fundación Unicaja, the concert reconstructs some of the artistic links that survived the dispersion caused by the Franco dictatorship. Through music, the musician proposes a reflection on the value of archives and museums as spaces for the conservation and transmission of a cultural legacy fragmented by Republican exile. The proposal is based on the role the guitar had for the Generation of 27, where it served as a bridge between the cultural legacy of the Golden Age and new creation. Its presence in the visual arts, literature and music articulated a dialogue between tradition and avant-garde, between the popular and the scholarly.

Peinado and the music of his time

Fundación Unicaja details that Joaquín Peinado took part in that context with the illustration he made for the offprint of issue number 9 of the magazine Litoral, from June 1929, dedicated to the «Panorama de la Littérature Espagnole de Jean Cassou» and signed by Antonio Marichalar. In the musical sphere, the pianist and composer Rosita García Ascot gave the presentation concert of the Grupo de los Ocho at the Residencia de Estudiantes, an institution Peinado frequented during his training years at the Real Academia de San Fernando. The recital is part of the cultural programme that the Ronda centre runs until the end of the year, which includes workshops, concerts and theatre, as this portal reported on October 21.
