The European Capital of Gastronomic Culture of Málaga now has its own website, malagagastronomica.com, where you can consult the programme, an interactive map of gastronomic resources and the latest news about the project, according to the Ayuntamiento de Málaga. The site is available in Spanish and English and is presented under the slogan «Málaga, where eating is culture».

What you can consult

The website is organised into sections devoted to the Capital, the agenda, the gastronomic map, the routes and the latest news. From the home page you can access upcoming events and the map, which allows you to locate points linked to Málaga's gastronomy. The establishments included have been selected by the Academia Gastronómica de Málaga and La Carta Malacitana, and the list may be expanded while the initiative is running. The routes section offers four themed tours of the city: the Ruta de los Chiringuitos, with 42 stops; the Ruta del Vino, with nine; the Ruta de las Estrellas y los Soles, with 13; and the Ruta de los Mercados, which covers 15 municipal markets.

More than a hundred activities

The Capital's programme includes more than a hundred activities during 2026 and 2027, including gastronomic routes, tastings, showcookings, professional meetings, training workshops, competitions, fairs, activities in markets and experiences with chefs. It is aimed both at residents and visitors and at professionals, producers, institutions and agents of the sector. Entities taking part in the programme include the Diputación de Málaga through Sabor a Málaga, the Comunidad Europea de la Nueva Gastronomía, Mahos, la Carta Malacitana, the Consejo Regulador de Denominación de Origen Sierras de Málaga y Pasas de Málaga, UMA–Gastrocampus de Innovación, the Academia Gastronómica de Málaga, the Club Gastronómico KM0, El Yantar Malacitano and Gastroarte.

Raíces, Excelencia and Futuro

The project is structured around three axes. Raíces focuses on the relationship of Málaga's cuisine with the territory, the product and tradition; Excelencia, on the recognition of Málaga as a culinary destination; and Futuro, on sustainability, training, innovation and international projection. This approach gives continuity to the programme presented last June, following Málaga's designation by the Comunidad Europea de la Nueva Gastronomía in succession to Gdansk (Poland).

How to access

The agenda, the map and the routes can be consulted through the website of the Capitalidad Gastronómica, and no registration requirement or cost has been announced to access its contents.
