María del Carmen Centurión has been distinguished as Mujer Rural de la Axarquía 2026 by the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Oriental-Axarquía. The recognition will be presented on October 15 at the headquarters of the Mancomunidad.
The proposal originated from an initiative by the mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, and the councilor for Equality, Ana María Muñoz, based on a proposal by the local mayor of Río de la Miel, Adolfo Padial. The distinction had the support of the municipal groups of PP, PSOE and Podemos-Izquierda Unida.
