The Emotional Well-being Plan for the Educational Community of Benalmádena (EMOBE) continues this 2026-2027 academic year with the five lines of work that were already running and adds two new programmes. The plan is aimed at all public primary and secondary schools in the municipality and works directly with students in their schools and secondary schools, in coordination with families.

Two additions

There are two new features this academic year. The Asociación La Sultana will carry out music therapy activities for minors with functional diversity, after school hours at the IES Poeta Salvador Rueda. The Asociación El Vuelo de las Libélulas will work with third and fourth year primary students to foster mutual care relationships and improve coexistence. In addition to these actions, those already underway continue: a direct intervention programme in schools developed by the Colegio Oficial de Psicología de Andalucía Oriental (COPAO), another on school mediation among students from first to fourth year of ESO and a line on bullying prevention in primary school run by the Asociación de Reflexión e Innovación Educativa (SUR).

A plan worth 121,000 euros

EMOBE arose from a proposal voted on in the municipal participatory budgets and has a budget of 121,000 euros, included in an amendment to the Strategic Subsidies Plan of 2026. It began to be developed in November 2025. In collaboration with the Fundación General de la Universidad de Málaga (FGUMA), 1,500 surveys were carried out among fifth and sixth year primary school students, whose results guided subsequent actions, and the needs of secondary school students were also analysed.

The event «Educar nos une»

The Casa de la Cultura in Arroyo de la Miel has hosted the event «Educar nos une», in which the teacher, pedagogue and educational psychologist Mar Romera took part. The mayor, Juan Antonio Lara; the councillor for Education, María Luisa Robles; the team responsible for the project, representatives of the schools and officials from the Junta de Andalucía attended the meeting. According to the mayor, the emotional well-being of students requires the collaboration of families, schools and administrations. Lara paid tribute to the teachers at IES Al-Baytar Pepi Ternero and Carmen Guerrero, who initially raised their concern about the emotional needs of students.
