The Málaga Carnival 2027 already has its official image and its crier. The Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga unveiled this Thursday the poster for the next edition, the work of the Málaga artist Francisco Romero Reina, «Curri», and announced Félix Godoy Agua as the crier of the celebration. The event was held at the Fábrica de Cervezas Victoria.
The Teatro Cervantes, star of the poster
The illustration turns the Teatro Cervantes into a carnival universe full of characters and details. The work is made entirely by hand using digital painting and is inspired by Ibáñez's comic strips to reflect the atmosphere of the Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones de Canto (COAC). It features characters from groups from previous editions and other figures from the author's own carnival life.
«Curri» explained that he initially considered making the work on canvas, but ultimately opted for digital painting and for centering the composition on the Teatro Cervantes. His intention, he said, is for carnival-goers to feel identified with the poster. On the opportunity to sign the 2027 image, the artist stated: «For me it is a gift, a gift I will carry with me for the rest of my life».
Félix Godoy will be the crier
Félix Godoy Agua (Málaga, 1980) is an author with more than two decades of experience linked to the Carnaval de Torremolinos and the COAC de Málaga. At the head of the Murga de Torremolinos he has won four first prizes in eight appearances in the Málaga competition, in addition to carrying out extensive work as a comparsa author and in the organization of events and the promotion of the celebration.
During his speech, Godoy declared: «Thank you very much for believing that I can be worthy of holding the role of crier of the Carnaval de Málaga, it is a pride». The murga de Torremolinos accompanied the author with a performance.
New measures from the Fundación
The event was the first official act of Virginia Pérez as president of the Fundación Ciudadana del Carnaval de Málaga and the first woman to hold the position. Pérez announced two novelties: the Best Costume award will be renamed the Miguel Ángel Crespo Best Costume Award and the Fundación intends to bring back the Gala de los Cracks del Carnaval.
The presentation included speeches by Genoveva Ferragut, head of Communication and External Relations at Cervezas Victoria, main sponsor and host; Teresa Porras, councillor for Fiestas at the Ayuntamiento de Málaga; and Luis José Rodríguez del Pozo, deputy delegate for Security and Emergencies at the Diputación Provincial de Málaga.
A day dedicated to the youth
The event will continue this Friday, October 23, with a day dedicated to the youth, at which the 2027 children's criers will be announced and a tribute will be paid to Súper Boke, the mascot of Málaga CF.
