Málaga's PSOE asks the Junta to announce the next metro expansion now
The secretary general of the Málaga PSOE, Josele Aguilar, calls on the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, to decide among the metro expansions under study and denounces a lack of solutions in interurban transport.

Aguilar has recalled that in 2018 Moreno Bonilla pledged that the metro would reach the Parque Tecnológico in three years, presenting it at the time as a simple and inexpensive project. Eight years later, according to the socialist leader, the expansion alternatives are still under study. Currently under study are the extensions towards Ciudad Jardín, El Palo and Rincón de la Victoria, and towards the Parque Tecnológico, which would also serve Campanillas. Aguilar demands that it be announced which of these options will be carried out.
Regarding the extension towards the Hospital Civil, currently under construction, Aguilar has pointed out that it was already planned and budgeted when the PSOE left the Junta's Government.
Interurban transport
The general secretary of the Malaga PSOE has also called for immediate improvements in interurban road transport. According to Aguilar, the bus concession map is more than twenty years old and has not been renewed. As an example, he cited the case of residents of La Cala del Moral and Rincón de la Victoria who are left at the stops because the buses arrive full, and has asked for greater frequency and more seats in the service.
Aguilar believes that, alongside medium- and long-term infrastructure, immediate measures are needed to reduce the number of cars on the roads, which, in his view, requires public transport to be more competitive.
Cámara de Cuentas
Aguilar has also referred to the report by the Cámara de Cuentas on the expenses of the Andalusian Government managed through the permanent financial control system, a mechanism by which spending is executed first and reviewed afterwards. According to Aguilar, the report states that 93% of the expenses analyzed under this system are allegedly irregular, out of a volume he puts at almost 38,000 million euros, with a particularly heavy weight of healthcare spending.
The socialist leader has recalled that his party already denounced, in August 2024, the shift from prior control to permanent financial control for a significant volume of spending, and links this situation to what his party calls the privatization of public healthcare towards private healthcare. Aguilar has announced that the PSOE will demand clarity, transparency and explanations from Moreno Bonilla's Government regarding these expenses and the Cámara de Cuentas' audits.
