The work, produced by the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, presents the artist's break with theatre through an intimate conversation, according to the note sent by the theatre itself. The creator presented a preview of the show to the media this Thursday.
As Alessandra García herself explained, «this work comes from wanting to do other kinds of things outside a stage, I am passionate about inhabiting nature and reality, and for that I had to say goodbye. There are three breaks at the same time: the break with the performer who studied at a dramatic art school, the break with the Italian-style theatre building, and the break with my ex-partner».
Creative team
The creator, director and performer of the work invited the creative team to come up on stage during the presentation, made up mostly of Andalusian professionals based in Malaga: Violeta Niebla (performer, production direction and directing assistance), Ramón Gázquez (performer and dramaturgy assistance), Ximena Carnevale (flowmotion dance), Cinthia Pingel (costumes), O-SH Studio (stage design), Víctor Jiménez (lighting design), Juan Diego Calzada (sound design), Daniel Blacksmith (sound) and Jorge Acanto (visuals).
Violeta Niebla revealed that the show will soon go on tour to the Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro de Cádiz and to the Teatro Central de Sevilla. As she explained, «since the work represents a farewell to theatre, Alessandra will try to say goodbye to every possible theatre».
For his part, Ramón Gázquez noted: «I am enjoying sharing the stage with Alessandra García and Violeta Niebla very much. As a creator I have never been as exposed as I am now, I am learning about the vulnerability of the performer's body».
