The Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola has begun processing the 2027 municipal accounts, which will amount to 133,744,274 euros, 17.66% more than those governing the current year. Spending and revenue will be balanced, according to the Consistorio. The biggest jump comes in real investments, which rise to 17,744,000 euros, 11,857,945.78 euros more than in the current budget, an increase of 201.46%. Among the planned actions are the construction of the Macrocomplejo Los Boliches and the Nuevo Mercacentro, the second phase of the remodeling of the Piscina David Meca and the purchase of new machinery for Limpieza Viaria.

Public services and social care

The public services item grows by 6.8%. Within it, Limpieza rises 5.8% compared with 2026 and the budget for the care of people benefiting from the Ley de Dependencia increases 21.5% compared with the previous year. The accounts keep debt at zero, the freezing of taxes and the 30% aid in taxes for registered residents.

Next steps

The extraordinary Junta de Gobierno Local approved the document last week as a prior step to its consideration and initial approval in the Pleno de la Corporación Municipal. If the Pleno gives the go-ahead, the process will continue with the public hearing so that the budget can enter into force on January 1, 2027. The mayor, Ana Mula, has stated that the processing is "a key act to guarantee the correct functioning of the Administration" and has valued the degree of compliance of the fuengiroleños in paying their tax obligations, which, she said, "facilitates the work of the Consistorio when it comes to administering everyone's resources".

Pending procedure

The budget is not yet definitively approved: it must pass through the municipal Pleno and, afterwards, through the public hearing period before entering into force on January 1, 2027.
